PostHog

Product analytics used as a truth source for metric verification.

What it does in Collabre

PostHog gives Collabre a second, independent view of what people actually did after they saw your content. Platforms report their own numbers, and Collabre compares them with the product analytics in your PostHog project. When the two disagree beyond the threshold your team sets, Collabre raises a warning or a critical alert instead of letting an inflated number flow into a report.

PostHog is a strong fit when the result you care about happens inside your own product: a signup, a trial start or a feature used for the first time. Pair it with Google Analytics 4 and you can compare platform reports against both, then pick the source your team treats as truth for each metric. Like every integration, the PostHog connection refreshes its credentials, syncs on a schedule and reports its health, so a broken connection shows up before a report depends on it.

How to connect it

PostHog connects with API keys rather than a sign in screen.

  1. Open Integration Hub from the Integrations group in the sidebar.
  2. Find PostHog under Analytics and press Connect.
  3. Paste your PostHog Project API Key into the first field.
  4. Paste your PostHog Personal API Key into the second field.
  5. Press Save. The card shows Connected, with the date it was last active.

Both keys are required. The connection is stored against your Workspace, and you can disconnect from the same card at any time. If the card shows Error, press Reconnect and enter the keys again.

Using it on a Campaign

Say a product launch Campaign is meant to drive trial signups from social posts and paid ads. With PostHog connected, open the Campaign and go to Ground-Truth Divergence. Each card sets the platform reported value beside the value from PostHog, with a variance badge showing how far apart they are. If GA4 is connected too, choose PostHog in the Truth source menu for conversions, because the signup happens in your product. View detail shows the recent snapshots behind the gap, so your team can explain it before the launch review.

Questions

The Project API Key identifies your PostHog project, and the Personal API Key lets Collabre read its data. The PostHog card asks for both before it saves the connection.

No. Either one works as a truth source. Connecting both lets you compare platform numbers against two independent sources and pick the one that fits each metric.

On each Campaign, in the Ground-Truth Divergence section. PostHog appears as a source on the divergence cards, next to the platform reported value.

Where it shows up
