Position-based attribution

Position-based attribution is a model that rewards both ends of the journey. Collabre gives 40 percent of the credit for a conversion to the first touchpoint, 40 percent to the last, and splits the remaining 20 percent equally across the touchpoints in between. It is also called the 40/20/40 or U-shaped model.

How it works in Collabre

Each conversion path is read as an ordered list of touchpoints. The first and the last receive the large shares, and every touchpoint in the middle receives an equal part of what is left. A path with a single touchpoint gives it the whole conversion, and a path with two touchpoints splits the conversion evenly between them.

Position-based suits teams that value both the content that introduced a buyer and the content that closed the sale. It can undervalue a long middle, such as a nurture sequence, so read it beside linear when the middle of the journey carries real work.

The five models in Collabre

Collabre offers five attribution models: last-click, first-click, linear, time-decay and position-based. The model is picked per report rather than once for the Workspace, so an awareness Campaign and a direct response Campaign can each be read with the model that suits it. Use the same model when you compare two periods.
